Invite others to "do life" with you.

Being intentional doesn't have to be impossible or extravagant.

Guess what? You are perfectly perched for God to use you wherever you are and in whatever you are doing! As long as you are faithful to let people in to your life, the connections will come.

Whether you're walking through this study individually or as a group, take a moment to process by asking yourself these questions:

  • In the beginning of the video, Kelly mentions that she felt God calling her to love her neighbor but she didn’t know how to do that as the new person in a new town. As she prayed and sought the Lord, he provided a way through a new friend named Michelle. As you consider God’s call on your heart, where do you need him to provide help, wisdom, or a way forward? Take time now to ask and seek him about where you feel stuck, confused, or frustrated.
  • Kelly mentions two strategies that have helped her – saying “yes” when invited to a neighborhood event and taking notes as she has conversations with neighbors. Could these strategies be helpful for you? Why or why not? How could you use these strategies with your neighbors?
  • When Kelly plans her own events, she plans activities that she likes to do at times that work for her. Does her reason for why resonate with you? Why or why not? What activities do you enjoy that would be natural to invite neighbors along?
  • In between events, Kelly keeps up with her neighbors on Facebook. Is Facebook a potential strategy for you or is there another method that would work better for your situation? Which social media platforms would be most natural for you to keep up with neighbors?
