Maybe it's time we rethink how people come to know Christ.
As stated in the video, there are many variations of the Engel Scale. Here's a simple one you can use as you think about your current relationships.
Let's put this theory into practice. Penn is an atheist magician; listen to his story of how a stranger played a pivotal part in his ongoing journey and think about it through the lens of the Engel Scale.

Whether you're walking through this study individually or as a group, take a moment to process by asking yourself these questions:
- When it comes to sharing the gospel, what's holding you back?
- How does the Engel Scale change the way you think about missional living?
- Think about your current relationships. Instead of defining successful missional living as seeing a friend come to know Christ, what if instead you looked at it as a journey of discovery? You might be on a journey with your neighbor for steps one and two, and another person may join them after that. What would that look like with the people you're journeying with now?
- What are some ways you can practice trusting the Holy Spirit’s work in each individual’s heart? Ask him to open your eyes to all of the opportunities that he has put in front of you among your neighbors!
